How do I create a group/set?

If you are responsible for groups/sets which you take for specific subjects such as English or Maths you are able to create these groups/sets of pupils within AdKlass so that you can grade them as well as pupils in your own class.

In this example the user’s normal class is WIL2, except for the subject of Mathematics when the three WIL classes mix together and create three maths groups/sets each comprising some pupils from the three WIL classes. The user then teaches the group/set called Maths2 for the subject of Mathematics.

Once logged into the system click on the Group management link within the Administration section on the right hand side of the page:

To create your new group/set click on the Add group button:

Type the name of the group/set in the space provided and select the strand that you will be assessing the group on from the Assigned Strand drop down list. In this example I am creating a maths set, so I select Mathematics in the strand drop down list. Then click on the Create group button:

The system will display all the classes and pupils within them that are available to you. Tick the check box next to the name of the pupils that will be in this new group/set. When all appropriate pupils are selected, click on the Save group button:

NOTE: If you cannot see all of the classes/pupils you need, ask the AdKlass administrator to allow you to view more classes or read How do I change who can see classes? for more information.

The new group is now created and your Manage groups page is redisplayed including your new group:

Once you are logged into the system you can select your group/set for assessment by clicking on the name of the group/set in Classes and Groups on the right hand side:

You will be shown the relevant strand (for example Mathematics) and can click on any of the sub-strand links to begin assessing your group/set:
