Error activating P3ocr

If, when attempting to activate P3ocr via the Start, Programs, Unimessage P3, P3ocr, Activate FineReader License shortcut, an error is reported such as:
- ABBYY FineReader Engine 8.1 Activation Wizard
An error occurred during the serial number activation.

Re-run the utility and select the by e-mail option instead of the recommended via Internet option then follow the instructions shown on screen.
