P3fax v1.0.7 released13 October 2006 Wordcraft are pleased to announce that P3fax version 1.0.7 is available for download. P3fax 1.0.7 addresses several requests and issues reported by users in the field as well as improvements developed in house, some of the changes included in P3fax 1.0.7 are as follows: - P3fax can now be installed and run in German, as well as English.
Client users can access P3fax via the web interface and run the P3console ancillary application in either English or German within the same installation. - Simplified installation process.
Typical and Custom options are now presented and when "typical" is selected fewer pages are displayed during the installation process and the ancillary functions (P3fax devices, P3console and the P3 printer) are automatically installed. - The open source Lighttpd web browser is now installed with and used by the P3fax web interface. In a "typical" installation communication with P3fax web interface is via TCP/IP port 3080, in a custom installation this port can be changed so as to avoid any conflict with something already installed using port 3080.
- The use of the Lighttpd web server instead of the previously used P3http web server avoids conflicts with "Antivierenkit" from G-Data which contains the Kaspersky and Bit-Defender anti-virus engine.
- I-netportal support for the Brother MFC-8660DN MFP when connected to the LAN is added. This selection will also work with the Brother MFC-8460DN and MFC-8870DW as well as any other Brother MFC that uses the Brother NC6400H network card.
- P3console is updated to avoid a crash if the detecting scheduler operation was cancelled.
- P3console is updated so that detection of the P3fax scheduler is successful when the BWCC.DLL and a revised version of the MAPI32.DLL files are present as is required, for example, for Pegasus Mail.
- "Administrator" level P3fax users can now authorise, via the Shared Outbox, transmissions submitted by other P3fax users to destinations beyond the submitting P3fax user's range, e.g. International when the original user is permitted to send faxes only to national numbers.
- A "Start" or "Hold" icon is now shown on the P3fax web interface toolbar when viewing a message from the Outbox depending on whether the message is correctly held or not to allow the "Hold" status of a message to be changed while viewing it - this can be used by Administrators to authorise transmissions submitted by other users (see above) while they are viewing the message.
- An alternative auto-refresh method is now used when P3fax is configured to automatically refresh user's views of lists - this avoid the Mozilla Firefox browser rereading all the images on the page each time it is refreshed.
- The "Sent Items" folder now shows "folder currently empty" when no items are present.
- Clicking anywhere on a row when viewing the list of user created folders now opens properties for the appropriate folder, it used to be necessary to click on the folder's name.
- The title line above the main web toolbar when viewing a user created folder now includes a prefix of either "Personal" or "Shared" so that it is possible to more easily identify the folder being viewed.
